SCUSD envisioned the creation of a trailblazing new Central Kitchen that would provide healthy meals to approximately 90 sites per day. Our team followed up on the adjacent Transportation project and started the new construction of the Central Kitchen. PMG was involved in all phases of the project, which included the new construction of a 35,000 SF state-of-the-art facility. The new Kitchen will give SCUSD the capability to prepare, package and deliver over 60,000 meals per day to all the students in the District. The project was extremely complex due to the coordination of the food service equipment, refrigeration and freezers needed to run such a large facility. Our team successfully transitioned this new facility while navigating the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
